Reading and Reviewing Wimpy Kid Books
Reviewing Diary of a Wimpy Kid
Diary of a Wimpy Kid (1st Book)
Final Review on the Book:
The Book took me 2 days to
read. The first day I read around 120 Pages then the next day I read the rest
of the 93 Pages. The book contains 217 Pages and that’s a pretty good amount of
pages for a book like this. Again, the Diary of a Wimpy kid is a novel but in a
cartoon style book. The novel contains 3 main character I think. Firstly, is
Greg, the main one, then his friend Rowley, which is introduced a lot in the novel,
so I think he’s one of the main character. Then also the mom. Overall, the
story is pretty much nearly the same as the one I just reviewed 2 days ago.
The book in short
Firstly, his mom gives Greg
a book to write in about his Diary, but instead of him writing diaries he just
decides to write about what happens in that day so then when kids actually get
a hold of his book, it won’t be as embarrassing if they see “Diary”. The first
notable moment was when it was gym class, and it was wrestling time and, but
the problem was that he was too light and that there was no one else his weight
so he had to wrestle the weird kid who was surprising, good at wrestling 1960’s
style. He had this idea to become super strong but soon later got over it when
he got it for Christmas. He also got in trouble many times in the story. He
then went to Halloween to do trick or treating but then teenager bullies came
and bullied them. He signed up for some stuff like an acting area, and the
school government thing, and also the comic dictator. He won the comic one but
the other ones he lost. Once then he got in a big fight between his best friend
Rowley, and they separated for a few weeks until they got in a fight and the
teenagers came back and made them eat the forbidden thing. The cheese on the
floor. If touching was bad enough, Rowley had to eat it. Greg got out of the
situation by saying he was allergic to dairy stuff so good for him. Then tons
of people started speculating about the cheese being missing until finding a
trace into someone eating it and realising there are 2 suspects. Greg and
Rowley. Greg felt really bad for Rowley and wanted to become friends with him,
so he told everyone and said that he ate it than saying that Rowley ate it.
Rowley then forgave him what he did before, and they became best friends again.
Characteristics
Pretty much the same as the
previous story that I had reviewed but again, the characters in the story are
amazing. They all got their own separate role, and they have an amazing match.
Greg did some questionable stuff which wasn’t good while also doing some good
things. Rowley is like a person who doesn’t do anything wrong but somehow gets
dragged into doing something wrong. Greg’s mom is basically a teacher doing
regular punishments like a regular teacher would do. Greg’s dad is like a
working dad who tries to do the best for his kids but then loses due to his mom
argument being stronger than his. Rodrick wasn’t really much included inside of
this story, so I don’t really know what type of character he was in this. But
in the 2nd one he was a person who wanted to get everything straight
and take big shortcuts and a bit over confident on his skills.
The story
Again, the story is like
usual, its amazing although stuff starts to get confusing, but they add a day,
so you know when it’s a separate text. So, it’s not like everything happened in
the same day or week. The story makes a lot of sense and not confusing. There’s
just enough text to understand what’s happening without too little and not too
much so your not reading like a whole essay for each page. They also added
images to their story so now you have 2 ways to understand what’s happening.
You can read the text then you can look at the image to imaginate what’s
happening. Overall, it’s very good story line and good story text. Very cool.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid – Rodrick Rules (2nd book)
This Book took me nearly 2
hours to fully read to the end
Pages | Describing the story (shorter
way)
Page 1 – 10:
The Wimpy Kid or also known as
Gregory “Greg” Heffley is the main character in the Dairy of a Wimpy Kid.
Rodrick is Greg’s older brother.
Manny is Greg’s younger brother.
Basically, Greg has a brother named
Rodrick who always ruins his Diary if he finds it. During summer Greg’s dad
make him signs up for a swim team which he hates because he is the worst at his
team at swimming. He also tries to convince his dad to switch class than him
doing swimming class. He also got laughed at because of his swimming suit. Greg
mom thinks it’s a good idea to let Rodrick / Greg’s older brother to pick him
up after he finished his swimming class. But he’s always late and he has sit in
the back cramped as all of Rodrick band equipment is there. After that he
decides to walk back home everyday instead taking the ride from Rodrick which
is around a 2 mile walk. Greg usually asks the coach to go to the bathroom and
stay there till the end of swimming class to avoid swimming but its much colder
inside of the bathroom than in the pool, so he uses tissues to try to warm
himself up. The next day Greg is back at school, and everyone was acting
strange around him. He soon remembers that he still has the cheese touch from
last week school. So now he has to find someone to touch to pass it on them. Luckily
there was a new kid called Jeremy Pindle in the home room, so he just touches
and pass it on like it’s no biggey.
Page 11 – 20:
After that Greg first class was
Pre-Algebra, and the teacher put him next to Alex Aruda / the smartest kid in
the class. Greg plans to copy his answers during the test. Greg realises that
kids which last names starts with the first few letters of the alphabet gets
called on most by the teacher, and that’s why they end up being the smartest in
the class. Although 1 person somehow evaded his theory which was Peter Utegar.
He was the smartest kid until fifth grade. That’s when Greg and his friends
gave him a hard time about his initials sounded when you said them out loud. Which
was P.U (Peter.Utegar). Now he gets C’s. Greg got decent seats until seventh
period at history when the teacher recognizes him and tells him to sit next to
him with a angry voice. Now it’s Wednesday and Greg and his brother are now
responsible with the dishes every night. They also aren’t allowed to watch any
TV or games until the dishes are clean. Greg hates Rodrick when its dishing
time. He basically goes to the bathroom and camps there until Greg is done with
the dishes. Yesterday, Greg’s parents found a picture at the day care, and they
got really upset at it when they found it. (The Picture was Mom and Dad being
angry at him) but they mistaken it as them being nice to Manny. Greg and
Rodrick got in a big fight over a remote and Manny was there to witness it
(which their parents try to stop Manny from seeing their fights). Greg summer
was more lame because his best friend, Rowley was on vacation the whole time so
he couldn’t talk to him. Greg also has a hard time listening to people vacations too. Greg best
friend, Rowley always goes to crazy places around the world that he can’t understand
their trips. Every time he comes back from a trip he always tells him every
single time and it gets annoying. He also becomes a big fanboy when he finds a
popular artist at the place he’s going to. This year Greg and Rowley are going
to be pen pals for French class. Soon later after the teacher came back he had
to choose another pen pal as they weren’t the same age, and he has to be French,
so they don’t have high hopes for his pen pal experience.
(This is too hard, so I
think I am just going to write about the review instead of the whole book)
Final Review of Diary of a Wimpy Kid
– Rodrick Rules:
The Wimpy Kid – Rodrick Rules is a
good diary story about the troubles between Greg and his other brother Rodrick.
The relatability between the brothers relationship is a good understanding on
actual brothers relationship between me and Azka. The story is not too much and
not too little in details, so I don’t have to read too much while also getting
a good amount of understanding on what is happening in the story. The
creativity for the story is excellent. There are many unexpected things that
happen throughout the story which is cool to add. I may take some stuff that
was inside of this Wimpy Kid. Greg also only introduced 1 friend in this story,
which was Rowley. I like the characters that were inside of the story. We got
Greg as the main character, Rodrick as the villain but also sometime nice as he
shows a secret technique during the bags when they were gaining money. Rowley
as a best friends with some annoying effects on the side. We got Manny as the
little child which likes to say everything that happens to the mom, but he
isn’t mean or nice. Now I am going to write about the good stuff about the
story and some parts that I would change or parts that I didn’t really like
that much.
The good things about the book
Now the good things about the book
were a lot of things. Most of the story in the book was genuinely good. The
main thing about what I liked was the characteristics inside of the book.
Characteristics
The people inside of the book had
different stories and different stuff what they liked. They also had different
roles inside of the book. Some were snitches, one of them was mean, one of them
was mysterious and you never knew what they did which was Rowley, Greg never
knew where they went and even though his acts were childish they got him the
best results. Then there is Greg as the main character. The Grandma as like the
nice person who gives them all positive stuff and says she doesn’t have a
favourite child, but they clearly know it’s Manny. The Grandpa who is a nice person,
but his stuff are like 90’s era stuff which Greg and Rodrick don’t like as
their stuff is more modern than his stuff. The mom as a person who is very
protective of the smaller brother and was a pre-school teacher and tries to do
the same old trick to kids which are much bigger / Greg and Rodrick. The dad, a
person who wants to help (until he found out about Rodrick trick) and doesn’t
have much free time because of the mom always wanting him to be with her and
maybe work too? He also likes to play with his action figures inside of the
basement which he is very protective about and bans guests to go down there.
The story
The story inside of the book is very
good and with the plot twists and the creative stories is amazing. I love the
creativity on the stories inside of the book as something new always happens. The
plot twists in the story are good and they know to not add too much and not to
add nothing. There was like 2 plot twists or something (I forgot how much
because I just finished playing with my brothers and cousin). The plot twists
were good and its like 5 or 10 pages after the original thing that happened. I
think they could have done a little better but still it is amazing.
Relatability and Relationship
The relatability between the brothers
are very good as it shows an actual example of what brothers would do. The
relationship between the friends, parents, teachers are ok, but they don’t give
detail on the teacher. Maybe because I missed a book which if so then I will
change this in the future.
The things they could have changed
Not much or nothing because I don’t
know what would they change because I’m not good at doing books / diary.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid – The last straw
Final
Review on the book: (3rd book)
The
book is good but it shows a different side of Greg. This book contains 217
pages just like the other one. The book story is a bit worse than the previous
one because its kind off repeats some stuff too much times. There are more plot
twists or another way to say it is unexpected things inside of the book. Like
random stuff that Greg did a few days ago pops up again and the mom or dad
finds out about it. Then of course he gets in trouble from it. There is also other
stuff like he tries out new stuff for the first time unlike the other books
where he tries out stuff that he already tried out. So, this book I just read
introduce more new stuff than the other book but the story line is around the
same with some stuff about it that I don’t like but it’s completely fine just
reading like 20 extra words. They also introduce more new characters, well not
exactly new main characters but rather new side characters like Greg falls in
love with a girl but then other girls pop up also like new people that was
introduce in the other book decide to show up in this book again but instead
with a new personality like the person who kept annoying Greg’s dad but then
soon when they went to the movie theatre where he chat with the bully that he
soon got a job after he went to military campus, trained every day, learned
discipline, learn to be nice, and while that he also missed half of the whole
movie while chatting with him.
The
new side of Greg that I found about
After
reading it, I found out that Greg kind off thinks he’s the best kid in school
and thinks he should get most of the credit for most things. He also likes to
take advantage from his best friend Rowley too. He likes to get advantage by
telling him to do stuff with him that Greg doesn’t want to do and also telling
him some stuff that could get him in big trouble while also tricking him into
some stuff that gives Greg an advantage like they buried something for like 10
years and Greg told Rowley to put some good toys in there and Greg will put his
3 dollars inside of it because Rowley started getting mad that Greg wasn’t
putting anything inside of the box and it was only him. Soon later after a few
days when he was low on cash, he decided to go back to Rowley backyard while he
wasn’t there and took the box and bought some food and took the toys from
Rowley. Although most of the time Greg is correct, he likes to have a over
confident himself and thinks he’s the best and thinks he does everything
correctly and he doesn’t like other people getting stuff while he does the most
effort. Greg is also more selfish that I thought. At the end of the book a new
girl on the block went up to Greg and Rowley while they were hanging out with
each other and introduced her name which was Trista. And Greg in his mind was
thinking that instead of him chasing for the other girl which ended up very
bad, he would instead go for Trista. Greg starts to realise that Rowley has a
country club card that his parents own and they can bring 2 guests to the pool.
Which isn’t bad until he starts thinking about Trista and him together while
Rowley is shown as like a waiter for them both which makes Greg and a bit
selfish, and also to take advantage of Rowley, and for him to get the reward
himself.
The
story
The
storyline is good overall just like the other books that I have read and
reviewed as you can scroll up and see for yourself. Some parts I don’t like but
that’s mainly because of Greg new attitude that is very bad inside of the story.
But over all very good.
The
Characteristics
The
people inside of the story was again pretty much the same besides from the new
side characters and Greg new found attitude. Sometimes Greg becomes a bit too
greedy and a bit too selfish as well. The girl is pretty basic because there
wasn’t even interaction with her for me to know what she’s like. She seems nice
and she also likes to host parties with her friends. The bullies that were
bullying Greg’s dad became a really good person to talk too and he became very
nice and changed a lot and his dad suddenly become in a really good mood. There
were also a lot of more bullies show in the book and they were mainly in
detention because they kept hitting people and one time when Greg got into
detention with them, the bully behind him hit Greg. The teacher said 1 more
time and you would get extra detention. Greg decided to be a bit mean and clap
and pretend that he hit him again to get out of detention. It was successful
and he got out while the bully got extra detention and now, he worries that the
bully will go to his house and bully him over there and he won’t get in trouble
because no one will see it like in school.

The
book is very good at 217 pages and can last you a good while if you are a slow
reader and if you like a comic / cartoon style novel. This book is better than
the other book for me because they introduce more stuff and they go to
different places and he gets try out new stuff. I didn’t say all the detail so
if you actually want to get the full story instead of my 10% of the whole book
bad explanation, then you should read the full story on google or you can read
it in your local library if they have the book. Very good and recommended 👍
Diary
of a Wimpy Kid – Dog Days
Final
Review on the book: (4th book)
New Characteristic
change to Greg Heffley
The
book introduces new people into the story. I like it and there’s some up and
down inside of the book. In this book I think Greg has a too big ego or a
bigger ego than the previous books. Greg is in love with a girl, named holly
hills, but when he went to a pool place to hang out with the family, he found
the older sister of Holly Hills, he found Heather Hills which she was in high
school while Greg was still in Middle school. Greg liking Holly Hills for me
was ok because they are in the same class and Greg liked her. But now Greg
likes a girl in high school which is a whole level above him and he thinks he
can easily get her when he can’t even get Holly Hills. I thought that was a bit
weird and didn’t like that. He thinks at that age he can already get a
girlfriend, successful business, successful life, get married etc. Greg also
seems to have a bigger ego and thinks he’s better than everyone. He spent 20
dollars on a carnival to try to win a prize which he didn’t get but his “best
friend” Rowley got it from a shop nearby for only 10 dollars and Greg got
pretty annoyed. Same with when he went to a “competition” that wasn’t even
ready yet and he decided to prank Rowley by pretending to have the hand for the
horror movie and he got smacked on the thumb with a hammer which then he got
annoyed of him but didn’t do anything. Also, Rowley isn’t even allowed to meet
up with Greg in the first place. His parents said that he isn’t allowed to see
Greg for a whole month due to Greg being very greedy saying that he needs 20
dollars when they want to leave the carnival area. The only reason why he came
is because Greg promised a Gummy bear box which he never gave Rowley. When an
employee when out he said it’s delayed but u can try it in the back rooms, so
Greg thinks that’s he’s about to win the game because he always plays it and
he’s very good at it, but with his thumb hurting a lot due to it getting
smacked by a hammer he lost and he said Rowley “stole” his win which shows he
has a high ego of himself. Also, that he is always suspicious when it’s
supposed to be a surprise and called the cops on his dad when his dad brought
him to the baseball game and Greg’s dad just got fed up and drove back home and
the seats was on the 3rd row so he thinks that it probably costed a
good chunk of money to buy those seats. He didn’t even apologize or anything he
just let it be and wait for it till Greg’s dad forgot about it and got in the
mood again. I also found out that he is much lazier inside of this book unlike
other ones. He blames it on his loss of interest or just cannot focus on
something for too long like reading books and he said he would read it the next
day but then he never reads it and it takes him 3 days to read a book that took
him only 30 minutes. He’s less honest too and likes to bring trouble, he
doesn’t tell the truth because he thinks that his parents will mess it up like
they do all the other times. Although that’s sometimes true because his parents
likes to do the best for him but then it just ruins his plans, I think it would
have been better to just be honest and tell his parents instead of keeping it
to himself and it just never works out in his favour. He also likes to show off
to his friends even though it would probably backfire and he thinks he can
charge people to see his photo which is not how that works as that’s literally
the dumbest thing to do to get money and how is that supposed to work. His troubles
are a lot because he likes to be the laziest and his parents gets mad at him
and not just his parents, but also to elderly people and his best friend
parents. He just keeps acting so greedy and stuff. He got asked to mow the lawn
on someone but changes voice and pretends that he does a great job but he does
a horrible job and gives a giant fee which is not worth it and he also
clickbait the advertisement which is another dishonest, and tons of other
things. I already wrote a lot about the bad things but there some more but I
think that’s too much so etc…
The
Story
Some
stuff I don’t like about the book which is the thing I said above but the rest
of the book is very good. Hopefully when I read the next one better things
happen. The attitude change is ok, its supposed to happen because he is growing
older and not the same age but I just don’t like it. There’s some new
characters inside of the story and there’s really not much else to talk about.
But if you are interested you should read the story yourself instead of my
horrible explanation of the story, ok time for the next one.
Characteristics
There
are some new characters like the dog, and the people inside of the pool, Heather
Hills, the grandmas, Rowley parents, and more. Rowley, Rodrick, Manny, and the
other characters characteristics hasn’t really changed besides from one and
that’s Greg Heffley. Greg has changed a lot because of his attitude he is more
problematic, he is less honest now, he has a bigger ego than before, and thinks
he’s basically a grown up while still being in middle school. But I already
explained it so I don’t want to repeat myself again for the 3rd
time.

Diary
of a Wimpy Kid – The Ugly Truth
Final
Review on the book: (5th book)
At
the start of the book, it was good then some parts happened where he got his
expectations way too high and it turned out to be much worse than he
anticipated. Although now I am getting used to Greg’s new characteristics and
its actually good because now there are way more funnier scenes / embarrassing
ones too. Gladly at the end of the book he is now back with Rowley and what I
realised was that the whole book I think he only mentioned Rowley maybe like 5
times max and the book was still entertaining. It looks like Greg is going to
go through puberty soon so maybe he will change again in the next few books
which I am looking out to once I read them and review it here. He still has a
bit too high of an ego although its for the better. The mom learned some
lessons inside of the book too like to not trust everyone and also that she is
very useful inside the house. The dad realised that the kids really need a lot
of parenting and he isn’t up for that. He takes forever to help the kids while
also him having to do his work. Rodrick, Greg, Greg’s Dad, and Manny learned
that cooking is way too hard and they just mess up super hard. Like when they
went out and then Rodrick spit his gum on his dad and somehow his dad tripped
and twisted his leg. I think the book was pretty good there isn’t really much
to talk about because I just don’t have a way of explaining it and it wouldn’t
really that entertaining me explaining it and also that I would spoil it so
WHAT I am going to do now is not spoil a lot like my other times but rather let
you read the book for yourself and see how you think about it.
Few
more things to talk about
There
is a bit more for me to talk about and the story itself. The story is good and
its like a comic but much longer. This book shows much more characters and
inner detail about them like stuff they haven’t told us in the previous book.
If you could handle a bit of the embarrassing parts or Greg’s characteristics
of an over ego and his expectations then I say go for it and read the book.
Here are my final ratings on the book.

characters. Very cool👍
Diary
of a Wimpy Kid – Cabin Fever
Final
Review on the book: (6th book)
After
reading this book, I can understand Greg much more and also that inside of the
book tons of unfortunate things happen and I think Greg had less of an ego this
time and actually cared about the others, like Greg and Rowley were “almost”
caught on trying to put their posters up and was soon called “graffiti”. Although
Rowley snitched, Greg didn’t pull the snitch card and tell on Rowley too
because he had some empathy because he dragged him to the poster incident. Which
led them to be on newspaper. I think the book had a noticeable difference and
improvement than the other ones and I actually didn’t cringe a single time out
of the whole book. Also, that the mom actually did something very nice to Greg
after Greg realised that his mom lied to him and faked the signature on his
favourite comic book, and she decided to go back and get another signature from
the comic writer. I don’t think I am going to spoil too much but rather the
parts I remember the most, so if you want to read the rest of the book and get
more detail than my very short sentences, then you should read the Cabin Fever
/ the 6th book on the Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Highly recommend as I
actually enjoyed reading all 217 pages on this one unlike the past few books I
have been reading.
Characteristics
The
characters inside of the book are relatively the same besides the dad because
I’m not sure because he was only introduced a few times inside of the story but
the rest of the characters were inside of the story and showed their full
characteristics. There is a change and that’s Manny. He’s kind off like a
savage now, as he turned off the electricity to everyone else rooms besides
himself which is insane. He really turned to survival instincts and said every
man for himself. In the last parts of the book, Manny had a lot of strict rules
for him to be happy like for some reason he wants mustard on a straight line
VERTICALLY on the hotdog which isn’t even as weird as him needing a puppet show
as entertainment while he is on the toilet pooping. Anyways I don’t really want
to spoil too much but in this review, I just talked about the book itself, a
bit about the book story, and also Manny weird rules.

Diary
of a Wimpy Kid – The Third Wheel
Final
Review on the book: (7th book)
The
book is very good and it looks like I actually was pretty interested the whole
book. I’m not sure if I’m just get used to Diary of a Wimpy Kid books or that
it’s actually get more entertainment than the previous books. I wouldn’t be
surprised if the books are getting better because that’s what everyone expect
anyways and if so then they’re doing an amazing job doing so. I am going to be
writing down the new stuff that I realised inside of the book.
New
Stuff
I
realised there are a lot of new stuff inside of the book and new characters and
more. Firstly, let’s talk about the characters. The new characters are the
students inside of the school and getting noticed more inside of the book and
it actually goes into some way into detail about them. Also, that Greg is now
like himself again and also in the first part of the book it showed Greg’s life
when he was a baby and some weird stories too. Also, that inside of the book,
Greg’s mom now does the laundry so finally Greg’s got some clean clothes unlike
the previous books when he would just get his spare clothes inside of his
closet and never wash his clothes at all. Greg is at least now more kind than
before and less selfish but when it comes to love / romance he will do anything
and use Rowley’s belongings or his stuff to make the girl like him. But I think
he tries too much and he shows a new side where even when the girl is attracted
to another person Greg will try as hard as possible to even get her to notice
him like when he paid for the entire dinner which costed him his entire
savings. There’s also a new main person which is Uncle Gary / Greg’s dad
brother. He keeps going to his brother’s house / Greg’s dad house to try to get
a few nights there or a long time until he gets a job or when he wins a lottery
which insanely it did happen.
There
are also new areas that they went too. They showed that Greg’s parents used to
go to a really fancy restaurant which you need to buy a reservation to actually
eat which is really crazy. We only know this because during the dinner with one
of the families from the school which Greg’s mom told. Also, Greg’s mom told
about in the beginning of the book about a buffet place where it was cheap but
very disgusting and messy. But Greg’s mom didn’t mind mainly because of the
price but also the kids over there. Greg’s mom tried to make Manny go to the
ball pits in the buffet place and make friends inside of there but he never
made friends over there. Then Greg realised a funny story over there where
Manny went up something to go above the ball pit until he got too scared to get
down then Greg had to go up which was very squished so it was hard for him to
get there but until he also got scared as well so then Greg’s mom had to go
tell an employee of the buffet to get both Greg and Manny down the tunnel part.
Which then they got down and it was just a funny story. There is also a new
event in the school which is held in the basketball or gym area, which turned
into a dance area as there was a new election for like a government for school.
One of the event governments said that they should make a dance event for a
charity fundraiser which all of the boys didn’t like because the event makers
were girls so it was kind of biased because in a few weeks I think it would be
valentine which Greg would try to get a date.
Some
extra stuff
A
thing I did realised inside of the book is that I realised that there wasn’t
any comic pictures like before so that was a bit of a bummer but it was still
really good but besides that the story of this book is very good and I would
recommend it a lot and maybe in the future the books will get better and
better. I didn’t cringe the whole book and I was very entertained. But if you
are about to read this book, I think it would be better to read the previous
books of the Wimpy Kids of a Diary before reading this one so you will get used
to Greg’s characteristics and also that you will see the difference from the
beginning and the end. I have 2 more books to read so here is my final review
of the book:

The book
was very good and I say it’s probably the best one now because it just keeps
better but maybe when I read the next books it will get better and better but I
don’t know yet so you’re going to have to wait unless I already finished
writing about this and you just have to scroll down a bit more and you will see
it. The book comes with 217 pages just like the other Wimpy Kids books and its
very good if you like Diary, cartoon, book and its like the size of a novel. I
would mainly recommend this book for kids or people who just want to get
inspiration if they want to write a diary book like this one, this would be a
great inspiration so go ahead and read it if you want in a real book or a
digital book online. Very Cool 👍
Diary
of a Wimpy Kid – Hard Luck
Final
Review on the book: (8th book)
Again,
unsurprisingly I enjoyed this book as well. The first part of the book was
about Greg being jealous about Rowley and his girlfriend that he wanted in the
previous book. The book had an amazing story but not much new areas. A bit of
the first part of the book is just about him and Rowley have a great time and
the fun memories, then it just cuts to Greg trying to make stuff easier for
himself. I think if I was Greg friend I would get fed up as well because the
way he treats them is pretty harsh. The fun things they do together are cool,
but then when its something bad and the friend of Greg gets dragged into it and
potentially harming them, and also that Greg just uses them just for his own
benefits like using their stuff and getting their stuff, stealing / taking
their stuff, and using them like carrying his luggage because that’s just too
far. I think what’s pretty interesting is their aunties relationship. They all
seem so greedy and just want to get the grandma belongings when she died and
lost her ring.
The
Plot
The
plot of the book is alright like the other books, usually just starts out at
their home and go into different areas and maybe something embarrassing happens
or Greg just finds something to make himself comfortable and something bad
happens. So many things can happen throughout the books I have read. Inside the
book also provides different areas and not just the school and the house so its
more entertaining. I like the new areas and the plots of it, so for the plot
I’ll give it a solid rating at the end of my review.
Characters
In
the book I realised that Greg’s generation family is really greedy. They all
want the best for themselves but it’s kind of normal because who doesn’t want
to get into possession of a valuable item? Also, Greg himself is greedy but
mainly he just wants the best for himself and usually lazy. His mood does
change throughout the story as for example (spoiler) at the end of the story he
feels guilt for Rowley after he broke up in his relationship due to his
girlfriend just wanting to make his ex-jealous and wanting to get back
together. So, Greg does have some empathy for Rowley and not just him wanting
to take all his benefits and use him for his own good. Overall, the characters
inside of the book are pretty casual and some are unusual. I’ll give it
probably a better than average rating at the end of my review.
Story
The
story inside of the book is usually good. The books I’ve been reading so far
have been getting better and better so that’s pretty surprising to me. The
Diary of a Wimpy Kid – Hard Luck is a book where you have to have some humour
inside of it to understand some of the jokes. The book has a semi slow paced
story but not too slow where its boring. I think it’s in the middle between
slow and fast because it’s just not too little but not too much at the same
time. As well for the descriptive of the story inside of the book. The story is
good in descriptive but it doesn’t go all in the story so I may have a few
questions which I am confused about. But either way it’s still a lot of words
and it’s good. It’s not the other giant novels I’ve read before and that’s why
I like it. The story again has a creative scene and also sometimes it has some
unexpected turns inside of the story, the story is also super creative like you
don’t know the outcome and sometimes just random and weird things just happen.
I think the stories fit with the characters pretty well, so for that I’m
probably going to give it a pretty high rating at the end of my review.
Final
Opinions
My
Final Opinions on the book is very well and most of the stuff I read inside of
the book I really like. There isn’t much stuff I dislike besides from the few
questions that I’m confused about but that may be because I usually forget
stuff very easily but maybe not I’m not sure. I like that the book keeps
bringing in new stuff for the readers and that’s what keeps making me read it
instead of getting bored out and stop reading it and keep it for another day.
Anyways here are my final review on Diary of a Wimpy Kid – Hard Luck:

The book is a solid 8.75 out of 10
and I would recommend this to like a audience who likes cartoonish, comic, or a
diary type book but they like some long books then that’s who I would target it
towards too. This book is usually rated for like the age of 8 to 12 years old
and I am 12 so that’s suits me pretty well. I hope this review was pretty good
and if you liked my review then you should read the actual book either online
or maybe in your local library will have the book? The book finals out at 217
pages ending with some funny picture which I really like. Also 217 pages is the
is usual because all the other books finishes at 217 pages. Anyways I like this
book. Very Cool 👍
