 Funday Friday? – Friday, 17/11/2023

Today was Friday, so today was supposed to be a fun day… (it was mostly a fun day :D)

Morning

The first thing to do in every morning is to wake up and get out of bed. The next thing to do is to eat breakfast and to take a shower. Regular morning stuff like I always says. Anyways, I’m just going to skip when we started leaving to school. We said our goodbyes and prayers before we go to school, to hope that we have a safe and great time at school.

Arrived to school

Once we arrived to the school, we locked our bikes, and got into our lines. I said hi to my friends, Aiden (my main best friend), Aron (sometimes my friend when I randomly meet him or during class), Suhan (Aiden and Aron’s friend), and Dawood (my very smart friend during science). We got into our form class to do our registration. While we were walking to our registration class, I was talking to Aiden about some stuff that I worked on yesterday and also, we talked about the GEMS project that we did. It was the business GEM that we had worked on before and if we would be able to get the GEM. Anyways since everyone in the class did a great job and no one got a bad rating, 3 or 4. We would all be getting candy on Monday! I’m going to explain what a bad rating is.

Teacher give us fun news!

Basically, in school, we have something called an ‘ATL’. An ATL is basically how you behave during class. You will get automatically a 2 when you show up to class and do the regular stuff that you are required to do. If you got a 3, you either showed up to class late, did not complete the regular work that you are required to do, or was annoying and disturbing other classmates during the class. NOW, if you get a 4… you either showed up REALLY LATE, did not DO ANY OF THE WORK, dressed up NOT IN UNIFORM, or you were REALLY ANNOYING and not just annoyed the classmates, but the TEACHER FOR THE WHOLE LESSON. To get a 1, you have to finish all the work great, help the teachers do the work, or do what the teachers say and help them out.

Science

So that’s what a rating / an ATL basically is. Once we all had finished the form class that we do in the morning, we all went to our first class. Our first class was science. So, me and Aiden went to our science class, which is pretty far but we still got there in time. We got into our seats and this is where my friend Dawood helps me out a lot. Dawood is very smart at science and he helps me by reminding me what the teacher says. I forget what the teacher says very easily so I basically always have to tell him for help. For today lesson, we would be learning about radiation. The previous days, we had learned about conduction and convection.

Conduction is how a solid object heats up, and its heats up by heating up the atoms of the object. The heat gives energy to the atoms, making it vibrate from the amount of energy. Then the vibration hits other atoms and when the atoms hit each other, it gives off a little bit of heat, spreading the heat and that’s how heat spread in solids. Another thing is that, metal is as greater conductor than another material because metal contains free electrons, making it so that when it vibrates, the metal free electrons vibrate much quicker and can spread heat quicker.

Convection is how liquid heats up. When you give heat out to a liquid in a pot. The conduction will happen to the metal pot, but when that happens, the water atoms will rise up to the surface. While the water atoms rise to the surface, it will give out heat while going up, heating up the water surrounding it while rising. Then the water rising will get farther from the heat source, making it cool down, making it go back to the bottom. Repeating the process till all the water atoms are hot.

Today we will be learning about radiation. The teacher first gave an example of radiation as the sun radiation and how it heats up the earth through space. Space is a vacuum with barely / no atoms / no particles. The radiation will go through space and go through the earth. DEPENDING on the reflective on the surface of where the radiation is hitting the earth, will depend on the how much radiation will be absorbed and reflected. The greenhouse effect also keeps the radiation heating up the earth. But most of the radiation gets absorbed. Around 71% of radiation gets absorbed and the rest 29% gets reflected out. This is because the reflectiveness and the absorb depends on the colour and material of the object. A lighter colour will give out more reflectiveness, while a darker colour won’t reflect as much radiation as a lighter colour. The material also matters. If the material is a shiny colour and reflective, it will reflect the radiation more, but if it’s a not shiny material, then it won’t reflect as much radiation.

We did some questions to reflect on what we learned today. This is because we have to make sure we understand what we learned for the upcoming test in the next few weeks (around like 5 weeks, so its not next ‘few’ weeks). Then a teacher came in and started singing IT’S FRIDAY HERE, FRIDAY FUNDAY WHATT. It’s basically a song that the teacher and class sing every Friday because every week, they give out a sticker to the best student of the week in science class. The class ended and we did break time which was about 20 minutes.

Break Time and Art Class

During break time, we went to the bathroom. Then we went to the library to chill and relax for the time. We met up together with me, Aiden, Azka, Suhan, Aron, and Azka’s friend, which is William if you forgot. After we had relaxed, we went to our next class. My next class would be Art class. Me, Aiden, Aron, and my main fun friend, Mahafujr met all together at art class. Mahafujr is a really funny and fun classmate during Music class. We got into our art class, and we got into our seats. Me and Aiden seats are really close to each other. The first thing the teacher had told us was the grades that she gave us. She had gone over what we had drew for the past month and rated it. She told us what we could improve and what we did well. Me and Aiden got 2= which is developing. So, we are below average currently as 3= is the average. So, we still have some work to do before reaching to be average skill. We got our books out and the teacher just told us to improve what we did before in the past month. Me and Aiden worked on what we had done last week. We did the tree shapes one. The only thing that we had to do with the past month work was that, we just had to paint what we had missed. We just painted and painted for the whole time. Then by the time we had finished, I just had to wait for my painting to be finished. I haven’t even finished the other 2 other assignments that I hadn’t finished previously. Anyways, I think we might finish those next week… maybe. Anyways, the class had already ended, and we set up everything back to normal. We cleaned the tables, put everything to dry, put all the painting stuff back, the glues and scissors back. Once we had finished doing everything, we all left the class when the bell had rung and we went onto our next class which would be math.

Mathematics

Me and Aiden started chatting while we were going to math class. We arrived to the class and we waited for the teacher to let us all in. While we were waiting, they were giving out the books and everyone was chatting with their friends. I also met Dawood again in Math class and we were chatting together too with Aiden. Then we entered the class and got into our seats.

Today we had a substitute teacher because the main teacher was out somewhere. The substitute teacher was a Muslim teacher who was very kind and nice. She told everyone to do the work sheet that she was provided with and we all did it.  The work sheet was about the double way tables that I said in my previous writing on ‘An Interesting Day’ on Tuesday. Until… everyone had found out that she was TOO NICE. One of the students said to the teacher that if they could use their phones once they had finished the work sheet. She said to the class if that was allowed and off course everyone said yes… So instead of anyone doing the work, they all went onto their phone. The teacher asked one of the students what they were doing when they were on their phone and scrolling on TikTok, the group of girls knew that the substitute teacher was gullible so they said they were working together on the work sheet and the teacher allowed that. For me, I was just doing my work sheet and by the time I finished, it was already 50 minutes in and the class was closing in. My friend Aiden saw me doing nothing and so he came over for help on the work sheet. I helped him then the class was done. So, we all packed away and left the class while thanking the teacher for a fun class. Then it was time for lunch and eating nom nom nom.

Lunch Time

During lunch time, we all met up near the bathroom like we always do. Then we went to a table and started eating our food that we had. We chatted around about the subjects we just did and stuff happening in our lives. Azka told me that in his math class, they just played games with the computers. Then I told him about my class of math and we basically nearly had the same experience. It was fun and funny. After we had finished eating our food, we just relaxed on the chairs in the lunch table instead of going to the library. The reason is because there’s basically nothing to do at the library and at the lunch area you can talk more louder and just get to your class easier. When lunch time was up, we all got our seats and all separated onto our next classes.

Computer Science (it was fun at the end)

My next class would be computer science, while my other friends would have like geography or history or also computer science with me. The friends that I would be doing computer science with would be Mahafujr, being the main friend sitting next to me in computer science. Then there’s Aron, he usually sits next to us and I don’t really like that. Mainly because he always says, “There’s no seats anywhere else” and forces to sit next to us. Blocking in between me and Mahafujr, but that’s besides the point. I also sit next to Chun. He is my Chinese friend. He doesn’t really speak English that well and needs to go to Google Translate. Then besides Mahafujr is another friend that I don’t really speak to during class because he is really far to me in other classes. His name is Abbas. He is a funny and fun friend to talk to and he is basically like Mahafujr, so it’s funny to talk to him.

Then during the class, the teacher said to everyone to revise on what we had learn the past few weeks / past month for the test. I think that this test might be our grades, so I took this seriously and started revising what I had learn the past month. The past month we had learned about the security of the online network, the Internet, the WWW (World Wide Web), wireless and wired electronics, and online services. Here’s a fact about the internet. The internet is much different than the World Wide Web because, the World Wide Web are the websites that are in search engines, while the internet is a world-wide network of computers connected to each other to give data.

Anyways the teacher gave us a total of 20 minutes to revise on what we had learned. During this time, I was going back to what I had learned, while my friend, Mahafujr and Abbas was searching online about the best paying jobs for 15 YEAR OLDS… this is because they are looking to start working young to get money and to have a successful life. They also decided to search for cars with the best money saving which was the Honda Civic 2023 model XD. It was funny watching them searching for like GPU’s and PC’s. That’s another thing that makes me a great match as their friends because they are into electronics and games.

Once the time had come for the test, the teacher had posted a link in the google classroom for the test. We all started doing it. The test was about the stuff I had revised, but some of the questions were about the EASY STUFF that I had to revise on. They gave questions about some stuff that are so detailed, it just started getting confused with other devices. Like they said about stuff and I thought it was a hub / a computer thing that connects multiple computers together. But it was a Computer Network. At the end of the test, I got a score of…. 18/28 and it was really good. The teacher said to add an extra 5 score because the text stuff doesn’t get marked so my final score was 23/28. I’m going to be honest; I should have said 20 because I only got 1 of the text questions correct worth 2 points while the other 2 text questions I got wrong. Hopefully the teacher will change this to everyone answers, so then it will be fair and no one will have a over high grade. Anyways the teacher said for the last time you can play games. I played some games then the class was over. So that was fun.

English

So, our next class and our class would be English. Me and Aiden arrived to the class and the teacher said we would be doing our Writing Lesson. For this lesson, we would be doing Lesson 19 on writing. We would be first correcting the paper wrong text writing for like 4 questions. Then the last 5^th question, we would be writing down 2 paragraphs / 4 paragraphs about a story with 8 key words that we have to use in the story.

The first one was adding comas, the second one was adding the correct pronouns, so she, he, the person’s actual name, or another person name. The third one was correcting 3 paragraphs by removing and, she, he, or unnecessary words. The fourth question would be about the paragraphs text saying. So, when a person says something in the paragraph, it has to be like. The man said (,”(capital letter)). The paragraph would say like; The man said hello, do you want to go to the ice cream shop? Then you correct it as; The man said, “Hello, do you want to go to the ice cream shop?” So, you add comas, the inverted double coma, and capital letter. I did quite good for those 4 questions and just like that, we were onto our last question.

For our last question, we would be writing down a paragraph like I said with key words. We would also be doing mastery checks. We have 3 mastery checks. All correct capital letters, stopping the sentences perfectly and comas, and make sure making the paragraphs make sense and carry on sentences. A carry-on sentence is like; The guy wanted to go the zoo and so he went into the zoo and he went to the rhino section and he bought food. You know, carrying on the sentence by repeatedly adding and. Anyways, at the end of the class, we were all done. I think I did pretty well and my friend also think he did pretty well. We put our books back into our folder, then put it inside the shelf. We packed up and the school was over.

We met and we talked about doing an after-school class on Tuesday. The after-school class would be badminton so it would be fun. I told Azka that Aiden might be doing the after-school class with us. Then we got outside, got onto our bikes while talking to Mahafujr and Abbas, and left the school. This was a fun Friday, and I enjoyed it. Thank you for reading my Fun Friday that I had.
