Today Nur Afifah will teach me about comparison
Types of Comparison
There are two types of Comparison:
1. Worth Comparison ( Perbandingan Senilai )
2. Reverse Comparison ( Perbandingan Terbalik )
Nur Afifah will give me questions to answer about math:
Questions about Worth Comparison:
1. If 32 books cost 122,500 Rupiah, how much would it cost to
buy 24 books?
It would cost 84,000 Rupiah.
2. For 3 dozen of pencils it cost 45,000 Rupiah. There are 12
pencils in each dozen of pencils. How much would it cost for 32 pencils?
It would cost 40,000 Rupiah.
3. A boy has 15.000 Rupiah. It costs 3.500 Rupiah for 5
books. He buys as much books as he can. How much did he get back in spare
change?
He would get back 300 Rupiah.
4. 9 Liters of gas can go 72 km. How much gas would you need
to go 108 km?
It would take 13,5 Liters of gas.
Solutions:
1. 35 Books = 122.500 Rupiah
24 Books = X Rupiah
X = ( 24:35 ) x 122.500 Rupiah = 84.000 Rupiah
2. 3 dozen = 45.000 Rupiah
32 pencils = X Rupiah
3 dozen = 36 pencils
X = ( 32:36 ) x 45.000 Rupiah = 40.000 Rupiah
3. 5 Books = 3.500 Rupiah
X Books = 15.000 Rupiah
1 Book = 3.500 : 5 = 700 Rupiah
Maximum purchase of books = ( 15.000 : 700 ) = 21 Books
21 Books = 21 x 700 = 14.700
Spare change =
15.000 Rupiah - 14.700 Rupiah = 300 Rupiah
4. 9 Liters = 72 km
X Liters = 108 km
X = (108 : 72 ) x 9 Liters = 13.5 Liters

Nur Afifah – Thursday ( Mathematics ) 6/4/2023
Today we learn about Comparison:
Regular Comparison:
For example: If her sister is 12 and her little sister is 4,
we can compare it by 12 : 4, but too make it more simpler, we divide it 3 : 1,
so now we know that she is 3x older than her little sister.
1 Banana: 12.000
7 Banana: ???
X1 = 1 Banana
Y1 = 12.000
X2 = 7 Banana
x2 = ???
Formula: X1/X2 =
Y1/Y2
Example: Y2 = X2 X Y1 : X1 = 12.000 X 7 = 84.000
Then there is a reverse comparison:
Where one may go up and the other goes down.
For example: if we go 50 km/h and the trip is 100 km, it
will take us 2 hours, but if we go 100 km/h, it will take only 1 hour, the
speed goes up, but the time goes down.
Formula: X1/X2 = Y2/Y1
1. Distance of city A - B is 100 km. The speed of the car is
40 km/h. It takes them 2.5 hours. How long would it take if it was 60, 80, 100
km/h.
X1 = 40 Km/h
Y1 = 2.5 Hours
X2 = 60 Km/h
Y2 = ???
X1 / X2 = Y2 / Y1
40 / 60 = Y2 / 2.5
Y2 = 40 X 2.5 : 60 Km/h = 1.7 = 1 hour and 45 minutes
Y2 = 40 X 2.5 : 80 Km/h = 1.25 = 1 hour and 15 minutes
Y2 = 40 X 2.5 : 100 Km/h = 1 hour

Today Afifah will teach me how to simplify stuff
We are going to be learning about Mean, Median, and Mode.
How to get the mean
How to get the Median
Mode is the most frequent number so number 10 with 9 frequency.
Assignment
Try to simplify this: 4, 5, 5, 6, 7, 7, 8, 8, 8, 9, 9, 9, 9, 10, 10!

Odd number = Angka ganjil
Even number = Angka genap
Angka ganjil / Odd number example ( The one I’m doing for
assignment ) :
Median = X ( ) = X ((
)) = X
= X 8 = 8
Even number example ( Just an example not part of Assignment
):
2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 5, 6
Median = ( X ( ) + X (
) ) : 2
= ( X ( ) + X (
+ 1 ) ) : 2
= ( X 4 + X
5 ) : 2
= ( 4 + 4 )
: 2
= 8 : 2
= 4
The mode number is the one with the highest frequency which
is “9” with “4” frequency.

Mid Term Math Test
Questions
1. If the base and height of the triangle are 8 cm and 10 cm
respectively, determine the area of the triangle!
Answer = Area of Triangle = =
= 402
2. A square has a side length of 4cm. Determine the
circumference and area of the square!
Answer = Circumference = 4 x s = 4 x 4 cm = 16 cm
Area = height x wide = 4 x 4 cm = 16 cm2
3. A rectangle has a length twice its width if its width is 6
cm, determine the area of the rectangle.
Length = x
Wide = 6 cm x 2 = Length
Area = Long x width = 12 x 6 cm = 72 cm2
4. Look at the picture below! Determine the Area and
Circumference of the Trapezoid beside!
Area = =
= 120 cm2
Circumference = = 5 cm +
15 cm + 13 cm + 13 cm = 46 cm
5.
Look at the picture below! If the length of AC = 12 cm, and the length of BD =
14 cm, determine the Area of the shape on the side!
Area = =

6. A block-shaped room will be painted on the walls. If the
length, width, and height of the room are 5 m, 4 m, and 3 m, then the area of
the painted wall is...
Length = 5m
Width = 4m
Height = 3m
Surface area = (2 x l x w) + (2 x l x h) x (2 x w x h) = 40 +
30 + 24 = 942
7. The circumference of the base of the cube is 36 cm. The
volume of the cube is...
Base of the cube is square = circumference of the square is
36
Circumference = 4 x s
Side = Circumference : 4 = 36 cm : 4 = 9 cm
Volume of cube = side x side x side = 9 x 9 x 9 = 93
= 729 cm3
8. The surface area of a cube whose base area is 162
cm is...
Surface area of cube = 16 x 6 = 962
9. I am a geometric shape that has 6 sides and 4 vertices.
Besides that, I have 12 shreds that are the same length. I am...
A CUBEEE
10. A prism has a base area of 842 cm. If the
height of the prism is 17 cm, its volume is...
Volume = Base area x Height 842 cm x 17 cm = 14282

11. Look at the following picture!
<A + <B + <C = 180
(2x + 4) + (8x + 1) + (4x + 7) = 180
(2x + 8x + 4x) + (4 + 1 + 7) = 180
14x + 12 = 180
14x = 180 - 12
168 = 14x
X = 168 / 14 = 12
<BAC
2X + 4
= 2 (X = 12) + 4
= 2 (12) + 4
= 24 + 4
= 28
12. Look at the following picture!
The angle for Q is...
a. 68 c. 48
b. 55 d. 35
13. Large <BAC is...
a. 24 c. 55
b. 28 d.
65
<A + <B + <C = 180
3x - 5 + 1x + 10 + 95 = 180
4x + 100 = 180
4x = 180 - 100
4x = 80
x = 80 / 4
x = 20
BAC = B (A) C
A = 3x - 5
= 3 (20) - 5
