Mas Heri – Wednesday ( PAI ) 12/4/2023

First we read the surah Al-Ghasiyah 1 – 26 Ayats. Asy-Syams 1 – 16 Ayats

Today Mas her teach me about:

Rukhsah Ease from ALLAH SWT in Worship Him:

Every Muslim is required to carry out the main worship like prayer, fasting, zakat and hajj. But if you cannot do it perfectly then there is the ease of relief which is known as rukhsah, like you can cancel your fasting if you have health problems, or if you have a disease or a disability.

The meaning of Rukhsah

Rukhsah means relief or relaxation, and the reason why it’s called that is because if you have a disease or you don’t feel well like your sick then you can break your fast or not do something. So, then you can relax and have relief.

The part of Rukhsah

Rukhsah which contains Istihsan ( Goodness ) Implementation of azimah or rukhsah can be chosen by someone. If selected rukhsah, that is better. For example, travellers do not fast on Ramadhan.

Exercise

Find a verse of the Qur'an besides Al Baqarah/2:286 which contains Rukhsah!

Al-Baqarah/2:185

Rukhsah in Sholat

Islam also provides convenience for the people which cannot do prayers all the time. You could sholat dhuhur like 2 + 2 or you can also sholat both at the same time, like dhuhur and asr combine.

Surah

"And if you travel on earth, there is nothing wrong with it you disrupt (your) prayers, if you are afraid of being attacked by the disbelievers. Verily, the disbelievers are a clear enemy for you.” (Q.S. an-Nisa'/4: 101)

Mas Heri – Wednesday ( PAI ) 3/5/2023

2: Definition of Ruksah

2.1: The law of Ruksah

3: The types of people who cannot do fasting

3.1: Surah related to breaking your fast

4: Exercise

5: Homework

Introduction

Fasting is one of the acts of worship that aims to achieve piety. Every reward is multiplied by him in the month of Ramadhan. But if you lose it if you don’t fast? In fact, fasting encourages to increase their worship. Fasting can erase their sins that have been done. We believe that Allah SWT is the most forgiving, most high and most caring to us.

While the people who are disabled or disease or sick or their age is very old etc... They do not have to fast, and Allah wants to make it easier for them because they have a disadvantage which is the definition of Ruksah.

Definition of Ruksah

Ruksah is given to people who are unable to carry out obligatory worshipping like praying and fasting which during Ramadhan Ruksah is given to them so they don’t have to make their condition worse to worship and Allah SWT wants to heal them.

The law of Ruksah

Ruksah law is permissible because of compulsion and in certain conditions, but if there is no compulsion anymore, then the law returns to the original law or it is called azimah.

For example when the people do a long trip from the city to other city, they are allowed to not do fasting.

The types of people who cannot do fasting

1.       People who are unable to do fasting can be people who are sick, have diseases, or illness

2.       People who has to do long trips to support their family

3.       Women which are pregnant or going through stuff

4.       Really old people but they are like 70 years old because if they are like 50 years old, they can still carry out fasting but if you are too old like 70 and you are unable to carry out fasting then you may not fast

And etc…

Surah related to do not fasting when getting sick:

That is) in a certain number of days. So whoever among you are sick or on a trip (then he breaks his fast), then (it is obligatory for him to fast) as many days as those left out in the days that other, and obligatory for people who are hard to run it (if they not fasting) pay fidyah, (ie): feed a poor person. Whoever willingly does good deeds, then that’s better for him, and fasting is better for you if you know. (Q.S. Al-Baqarah/2: 184)

Today Mas heri show me surah to recite named Ali Imran then mas heri teaches me about

(the file is super long so ayah just told me to go to chatgpt to make it easier and make it more better understanding)

Ruksah pays Zakat and Conditions that are facilitated in Hajj

Chapters:

1: Introduction

2: Definition of Ruksah on Zakat

3: Definition of Ruksah on Hajj

4: The Benefit to carry out Ruksah

5: Exercise / Homework

Introduction

For every Muslim, zakat is an obligation. Zakat works to clean yourself your property. The people who pay zakat, besides carry out orders, he also seeks to purify himself and his wealth from the dirt of his sins.

In addition to that, zakat also has a social function, namely helping the less fortunate people ( fakir and poor people ) as well other groups in accordance with the provisions of the Shari’a.

Definition of Ruksah on Zakat

Zakat fitrah can be paid with money instead of the traditional method of paying with specific staple food like rice. Zakat is paid by those who are required to do so and can appoint a representative to make the payment on their behalf.

Zakat Fitrah is paid to make the poor happy during holidays, such as Eid. It can be paid a few days before Eid, and the Indonesian Council of Ulama recommends prioritizing Zakat Fitrah, especially during the Covid-19 Pandemic, for social benefits and to make it easier for those required to pay Zakat.

Definition of Ruksah on Hajj

B. pilgrimage / Hajj has a trace history of Prophet Ibrahim a.s. and his family in the past. All pilgrimage rituals have wisdom.

Hajj Mabrur is the hope of all pilgrims. They are trying to change behavior is getting better, after returning to its home area.

A. Hajj is one of the pillars of Islam but is only mandatory for those who can afford it. Allah SWT obliges worship only for those who are financially capable of performing the pilgrimage. Those who are not included in this category are not required to do Hajj.

Areas of growth

B.1 There is a surah which is about the people condition that can carry out Hajj

Meaning:

There are clear signs, (among them) the maqam of Ibrahim. Whoever enters it (Baitullah) is safe. And (among) obligations human to God is to carry out the pilgrimage to the Baitullah, that  is for those who can afford to travel there. Whoever deny (obligation) pilgrimage, then know that Allah is Rich(does not need anything) from all nature. (Q.S. Ali 'Imrān / 3: 97)

B.3. Hajj is for those who can afford it, in terms of expenses, leaving behind family, physical ability, and health during the pilgrimage. Additionally, safe transportation to Mecca is necessary. Muslims who can perform Hajj but do not are considered sinful for neglecting their obligation.

B. Hajj is mandatory only once in a lifetime. It is not mandatory to perform the pilgrimage again after that.

C. Even if someone is capable, they can postpone their Hajj. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) waited four years after the revelation of the verse about pilgrimage before performing his own Hajj.

D. There are three options for performing the Hajj: Tamattu', Qiran, and Ifrad. Although it can be burdensome to leave home for a long time, there are also benefits to performing the pilgrimage. The three options give flexibility and relief to pilgrims, including performing Umrah before or after Hajj, or both at the same time.

E. It is possible for someone else to perform the Hajj on behalf of another person, known as "badal haji" or "al-hājj 'an al-gair". This is usually done for acts of worship that involve transactions or have material aspects.

F. Dams payments during Hajj can be substituted with fasting. Those who perform Tamattu' and Qiran are obligated to pay dams, but if someone cannot afford to slaughter a goat, they can pay a fine by fasting for 3 days in the holy land and 7 days after returning home. This is in accordance with Allah SWT's words.

Here is the meaning of Al-Baqarah/2:196

F.1. Q.S. al-Baqarah/2: 196)

Meaning:

And perfect the pilgrimage and 'umrah for the sake of Allah. If you are surrounded (obstructed by the enemy or because of illness), then (slaughter) a sacrifice that is easy to get, and do not shave your head before the victim reaches the place of slaughter. If any of you is sick or has trouble on his head (then he shaves), then it is obligatory for him to make fidyah, namely: fasting or giving alms or making sacrifices. If you are (feeling) safe, then for those who wish to perform 'umrah before Hajj (during the month of Hajj), (it is obligatory for him to slaughter) a sacrifice that is easy to obtain. But if he does not find (animal sacrifice or is not able to), then it is obligatory to fast three days during the Hajj and seven days (again) when you have returned home. Those are the perfect ten (days). That is (the obligation to pay fidyah) for people whose families are not (in the vicinity of) the Grand Mosque (people who are not residents of the city of Mecca). And fear Allah and know that Allah is severe in punishment.

G. Spending the night in Mina to cast the jumrah is not mandatory except for those performing the obligatory pilgrimage. Throwing the jumrah is not allowed until a person has paid their dam. Additionally, standing at Arafah on the ninth day of Dzulhijjah does not have to be done from morning to night.

H. Allah SWT rewards those who perform good deeds with double the reward. Even small acts of worship can yield great rewards. Those who cannot perform Hajj but give charity with sincerity and consistency will be rewarded as if they have performed Hajj. Congregational prayers are also rewarded with the same reward as Hajj if done consistently. The Duha prayer can also be as rewarding as Umrah, according to a hadith from Abu Umamah.

This hadith states that leaving the house in a state of purity to perform obligatory prayers will be rewarded with Hajj. Similarly, leaving the house solely to perform Duha prayers will be rewarded with Umrah, according to Abu Dawud.

6. Wisdom Rukhṣah in Islam has many lessons, including:

a. Facilitate the implementation of Islamic law. Religion does not wanthardship. Religion pays attention to the implementation of charity in accordance withability.

b. Proof that Islamic law is neither rigid nor extreme.

Islamic Sharia is often seen as rigid, harsh and inflexible. Usually this assumption arises from those who do not fully understand Shari'a true or complete. They see only one side and forget the side other. Even though Rasulullah saw. said:

Verily, this religion is easy, and it is not someone who overdoes (troubles himself) in matters of religion but religion willbeat him." (H.R. al-Bukhari)

C. Rukhṣah strengthens consistency in worship and love for Islamic teachings. It allows for relief and convenience while still encouraging continuous worship until old age.

D. Rukhṣah promotes mutual discipline and respect, as prayer should not be abandoned under any circumstances. It allows for flexibility in implementation, such as plural and qasar.

Homework: 90 score

1. To hone your skills about zakat, look for the definitions and distribution of zakat according to the scholars! You can search for it online or other sources!

The definition of Zakat is a charity where Muslims are required to donate 2.5% of their total savings / wealth. ( The distribution is 2.5% / 1/40 )

2. To strengthen your understanding of Hajj. Find and write down about the differences between hajj and umrah, checkers, and stoning!

Timing

Hajj is only performed during the specific days of the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah.

While Umrah can be performed any time throughout the year, except for the days of Hajj.

Obligation

Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and is for Muslims who can afford it. It is obligated for them to perform Hajj at least once in their lifetime on the people who can afford it.

Mas Heri - Wednesday ( PAI ) 24/5/2023

We first recited 2 surah which are Al-ala and Asy-Syams then start learning about:

ANDALUSIA: THE CITY OF CIVILIZATION ISLAM IN THE WEST (756-1031 A.D

Chapters:

1. Introduction

2. To know the meaning of Andalusia

3. Umayyads in Andalusia

4. Development of science in the Umayyad Period

5. Exercise

Introduction

In the past several centuries, Islam has triumphed in science. One of them was when Islam developed in Andalusia (756-1031 AD)..

The rapid development of science and technology in basically is the encouragement of reason as the greatest gift from Allah SWT

for humans. In this development, the role of religion, especially the Qur'an, has also made a very important contribution

To know the meaning of Andalusia

1. To The Meaning of Andalusia

Al-Andalus) was the name of the part of the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal) that was ruled by Muslims or Moors between 711 and 1492.[1] Al-Andalus is also often called Andalusia, but this usage is confused with the administrative area in modern Spain Andalusia.

Areas of growth

2. Umayyads in Andalusia

Islam entered Andalusia during the 92 H. During that time, it was ruled by the Goths / Gothic. Musa bin Nusayr as the governor of Africa. The north sent troops which were led by the Commander Tariq bin Ziyadin during the 710 AD to make the conquests to this region.

They succeed in 712 AD and made it to Andalusia via another path that was not followed by Tariq bin Ziyad and his army.

In beach west of the Spanish peninsula namely Seville and Merida were successfully conquered. Then they met Tariq troops at Toledo. Two of the troops join the conquered areas extended as far north of Barcelona, Terrofona, and Saragossa.

2.a Abd al-Rahman al-Dakhil proclaimed the establishment of the Second Umayyad Empire in Andalusia ( Spain ).

On May 15, 756 AD, Abd al-Rahman al-Dakhil proclaimed the establishment of the second Umayyyad Empire in Andalusia ( Spain ). This signifies officially began the second reign of the loose Umayyad dynasty of the Abbasids in Baghdad.

2.b The part of Andalusia area

The Islamic Territories in Andalusia in Umayyad is divided into five provinces (vice royalty) which are headed by oneemir. The seat of government is Cordova.

Since Spain can become an Islamic province under the Umayyads in Damascus. The name has replaced with the designation Andalusia. The central government of Damascus places a guardian oremir in Spain.

His first guardian was the son of Musa bin Nusayr who was named Abd al-Aziz. In Andalusia Abd al Aziz married Achelona widow from Roderick whose name was later changed to Umm Asim.

This was the first mixed marriage between a Muslim and Spanish woman.

2.C In Spain during when it was governed by Muslims your main question how did they feel?

The people of Spain felt happy and gained prosperity under the Islamic rule.

The Christian enjoyed their freedom and did not disturb by carrying out their worship and habits.

They became independent and actively assisted the Arabs in governing Spain and returning the land to the high cultural level.

Islamic rule in Andalusia does not persecute and does not participate interference in their internal affairs. The Muslims give autonomy full in all religious matters.

2.D What happened on 750 AD

During 750 AD a major event occurred in Damascus that be fell power or revolution carried out by the Bani Abbas family aided by the rebels who had long supressed the Umayyads.

Then the revolution succeeded in ending Bani's rule the Umayyads ruled for 90 years.

(too much to type because already 1 hour and 40 minute class)

Homework

Identify of the glory of Bani Umayyad Islamic Spain in urban planning and physical building planning! Then, compare it with the triumph of Islam during the Umayyads in Damascus!

In Andalusia there are 113,000 houses, 70 libraries, bookstores and hundreds of mosques, and long paved streets which are lit with the lights from the nearby houses.

And in Damascus there are

Completion of the Al-Quran mushaf writing with dots on certain letters

Construction of the Al Amawi mosque in Damascus and al Aqsa in Jerusalem

Expansion of the Prophet's mosque in Medina

Construction of a hospital for lepers

Hadith collection

Equalize the position of Arabs and non-Arabs so that they are united again.

So, between the Andalusia city and Damascus had good building and development of science well during Umayyad era but the moment of government is short in Andalusia
